Proceedings of the XII International Congress of Dermatology, September 1962, Washington D.C. (Volumes I & II) is a two-volume set documenting the papers, symposia, and scientific proceedings of the twelfth international dermatology congress held in Washington, D.C. in 1962. Edited by Donald M. Pillsbury and Clarence S. Livingood, the set was issued as International Congress Series No. 55 by the Excerpta Medica Foundation, with the imprint jointly listing Amsterdam, New York, London, Milan, and Tokyo. Volume I and Volume II together compile the full range of scientific symposia presented at the congress, covering topics such as general dermatology, dermatopathology, treatment advances, epidemiology of cutaneous disease, and fungal and bacterial skin infections, reflecting the state of international dermatological research and practice in the early 1960s.
Both volumes include extensive tables of contents outlining numbered symposia and subtopics, and Volume I features a full-page fold-out photographic plate of congress attendees gathered outside a conference venue in Washington, D.C., offering a visual record of the event and its international delegation.
Condition & Binding: Both volumes are bound in matching blue cloth boards with gilt-titled spines and front covers reading "Proceedings of the International Congress of Dermatology," with spines additionally lettered "I" and "II," the congress title, date, location, and the Excerpta Medica Foundation device in gilt. Clean, tight bindings and only minor shelf wear noted to the extremities; the interior text blocks are clean. Volume I bears a pictorial bookplate ("Ex Libris") on the front pastedown, identifying a prior owner, Brian P. Flanagan. Overall- very good. Item #1032
